I am constantly amazed by the incredible tools a successful entrepreneur can find on the internet AND USE for their business! Just let your fingers do some walking on your keyboard – type in what you want and Magic there it is! The internet is truly like the genie in a bottle – it will serve up your every wish if you try a few different versions of what you are looking for. Over the last year I have created a swipe file of headlines from top blogs and websites all over the world. At last count it had over 200 variations of formulas to build headlines or actual headlines. I have used many of them – mostly via My Profile On Twitter for sharing content on my different websites
The Best Kind Of Tools – Scientific And Free
I found an amazing tool that adds some science to the art and science of writing headlines that generate interest and traffic to your web properties. The tool has been around a few years and meets one of my top criteria for sharing with my readers – It’s free to use!
Load Your Headlines With Words You Know Are Effective
The tool accesses the Advanced Marketing Institute’s proprietary database and evaluates the kind of message your words send to your reader. The database is put together from research done internationally stretching back as far as the 1970’s. So the research is established but the downside is it is somewhat dated. The data itself is not tested against the internet but as a successful entrepreneur this is your opportunity! Take base information apply it yourself, make it your own and gain competitive advantage by how you use it uniquely. This tool is a great tool to start with and then test yourself!
It is based upon categorizing words into three different categories:
Using those categories the tool evaluates:
…basic underlying harmonics, a tonality that flows through language, which are in many ways more profound and powerful than the dictionary meaning itself. Whereas sometimes meaning can be mistaken, the sound tones are always interpreted the same way by the emotions. These are better said as “emotional” reactions, although the effect is subtle.
My recommendation is to use this tool and experiment some with different variations of headlines and titles – even use it for adjusting a Tweet since the tool will accept and evaluate a submission with as many as 20 words! I have used this tool to split test recent email marketing subjects and have seen a correlation of higher open rates with subject lines that have higher EMV ratings. I look to build headlines/Titles/Subjects when I use it of greater than 60%.
